|The Florida Manatee is
marvelous, curious, delightfully unusual and very endangered.
This site is chock full of information on the manatees - What
they eat, where they live, how they communicate. Many underwater
photographs, plus student drawings of their interactions with
Manatees are available here. Sundiver Productions has created
books, lesson plans and support materials for teachers, plus
an array of items for students. Check it all out at: http://www.sundiver.com
OF THE KEEPERS is a medieval "virtual tour" inviting
middle school students to join a snow boarder for an exhilarating
and problem solving trip down the mountains, following the path
of water from the high country to the home faucet and on into
wastewater treatment. Along the way they'll glide of over the
Great Divide, shred the pipeline, meet the knights and wizards
of the Finishing Fortress, blade the mains and dive the drains.

KEEPERS OF THE WATER is an award winning
middle school curriculum. This online teacher's guide presents
interdisciplinary water activities designed to help students
appreciate the complexity of the water management system
serving semi-arid Colorado Springs. Geography, climate and
human development all interact to create demands on the
water system. Ultimately, the message
of these units encourages stewardship and the conservation
of our limited water resources.

information is integrated with the Blueprint for the Future,
an interactive architecture curriculum with links back to the
Carnegie Library pages.
Sponsored by the Kennedy Center Imagination Celebration, a draft
